Intro

SwissSTES, an Innosuisse Flagship Initiative project, aims to reduce Switzerland's dependency on fossil fuels by pioneering seasonal thermal energy storage (STES) to become a net-zero carbon society.

An interdisciplinary consortium develops and assesses novel STES technologies in 10 subprojects and proposes a systemic STES action and implementation plan. SIL supports the project with the development and assessment of potential business models for regional STES solutions.
